A REVUE by OPUS 8 New Forest Arts Centre New Milton June 2002 An 18-strong entertainment team, played in a spectacular array of colourful costumes and wigs by the 4-strong company - Glinys Luff, Helen Barrington, Bryan Newman and Paul Barrington – provide keep fit, cookery classes, country music, Stars on Sunday, ballroom dancing, West End showstoppers and all those other touches to keep passengers captive – sorry, amused – on the high seas. But would anyone want to jump ship? Once you’ve seen the likes of opera singer Louciano Pizzaria, dance instructors Babette and Nigel Forbes-Winkton or Spanish spitfire Marguarita Maria Louisa Maraca you’ll be too weak from laughter to try, and no-one would want to miss the company in more serious mode singing show songs, Bacharach and more. All that, plus a great set and the brilliant John Aveyard on piano, adds up to a glorious evening of first-class entertainment. Next time the ship sets sail (at the Regent Centre Studio in November) please be there. It’s the cruise of a lifetime. Linda Kirkman Courtesy of the Bournemouth Daily Echo |
