  LOCAL RESOURCES

PLAY COPIES - THE LIBRARIES

Bournemouth Poole and Dorset Libraries all have access to sets of play copies and to single copies of plays that are kept at Wareham Library. If you register your group with the Library you can obtain sets of play copies for three months (or the duration of rehearsals). Single copies of plays are also kept for reading purposes and these can also be loaned. Be careful however, not to keep plays longer than the loan period as the fines can be punative.
The library catalogue is on the Internet see the Prolinks page for access.

VENUES

THE BOSCOMBE CENTRE FOR COMMUNITY ARTS

The Centre has a number of Studios for hire, both for rehearsals and for full scale productions. Telephone Bournemouth 359759 regarding availability.

WARDROBES

A number of groups have fairly extensive wardrobes and these include the Bournemouth Little Theatre, All Saints Dramatic Society & the Angel Players. These groups would probably agree to short-term loans if the items concerned were not needed for current productions. If there are any others let us know.
I have now been informed that All Saints' wardrobe is split between various members, attics, garages, etc., although they are looking for premises where they can store everything in one place. Under the circumstances they are unable to help with costumes at the moment, as it is difficult to know where a particular item is.

FOOTNOTES

The above list of resources just scratches the surface of all that is available. I would welcome any corrections, amendments or additions you can make. Perhaps your group has something they would like to share? In fact the advertising pages of the Amdram website are full of groups offering complete elaborately decorated sets for sale. Locally it is gratifying the way groups go out of their way to help each other.
