SHOW SYNOPSISRumours is yet another example of Neil Simon's brilliance as a playwright. The words he gives actors to say are gifts. I'm not saying that actors don't have to work for their laughs, but he makes it so easy. Rumours is a play which pokes fun at upper class society and how their trivial problems send them into tizzies. Through the spread of rumours, alcohol and gunshots they all go crazy. As the play progresses we learn that Charley and Myra Brook, the owners of the house, are throwing a big tenth anniversary party and they've invited all their socialite friends over. As each couple arrive we learn more and more about the rumours, the scandal and the accident. Or was it an accident? If it's a party, why were the Police called? Go and find out. You won't be disappointed.
