FREE DRAMA TRAINING The 2004 Academy/Stage Scholarships
The Academy Drama School, in association with The Stage Newspaper, is
offering free training on three of its courses.
1. The Full Time Evening and Weekend Course
Designed to allow students to support themselves financially, this
course provides a full training in acting, and spans six terms over two
years, with classes running 6.30pm - 10.30pm Monday to Friday and 10am -
4pm on Saturdays. This culminates in a West End showcase and a final
production to which agents, and casting directors are invited.
Applicants must be aged 20 or over by the start of the course. The value
of this scholarship is £7800.
Audition will be held on Sunday 30th May at 10.30am
2. The Medallion Course
This is a preparatory course, aimed at guiding younger students through
the drama school audition process, whilst providing a practical foundation
in all aspects of acting, including performance. The hours are 10.30am -
4pm Monday to Friday.
Applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 20 by the start of the
course.
The value of this scholarship £3000.
Audition will be held on Monday 31st May at 10.30am
3. The Post - Graduate Course
This new course is aimed at those with previous training or relevant
degree and mature students. It is an entirely practical course, designed
to hone the professional actor's skills and offers the same career launch
as the Full Time Evening Course. Applicants must be 21 or over at the
start of the course.
The value of this scholarship is £6300
Audition will be held on Monday 31st May at 4.00pm
To apply for any of the above scholarships, clip the coupon from this
week's Stage. Bring it to the Academy on the appropriate day.
The scholarship place, if offered, must be accepted on the spot. All
auditions will start promptly. To apply you will need to buy a copy of
The Stage Newspaper, any week in May, these editions contain a coupon for
a free audition. Admission by coupon only. There will be no other
auditions for these scholarships.
